  • 3 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon liquid red food coloring (approximately 0.5 oz)
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup 115 g unsalted butter, (1 stick) softened
  • 1 ½ cups 300 g granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 4 oz 115 g block-style cream cheese, cold
  • 4 tablespoon 55 g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup 60 g powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Set the oven to 350°F and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish with cooking spray. For easy removal, you can also line the pan with parchment paper, leaving a 2-inch overhang on two sides, and grease any exposed edges.
